Quiet Planet® has saved the best for last, as Hawaii is the Earth-in-miniature, providing nearly all habitat types and 10 of the world’s 14 climate zones in merely 6/1000ths of one percent of the world’s land surface area. To meet such a challenge of diversity, this unprecedented library was accomplished over two decades of repeated visits to Maui, Kauai, Oahu, and the Big Island. This library includes 40 species vocalizations (including the Hawaiian Crow, now extinct in the wild) and105 ambiences which are conveniently divided into coastal and Up-Island, as well as day and night, to simplify workflow. Included are two helpful guides: Sound Designing with Hawaii and How to Record Hawaii. Metadata provides valuable information such as Species ID, place description, and geographic location (SoundMiner® readable).
